One of the best parks near Sioux Falls without a park fee.

Bottom line up front: Nice trails, no state parks pass required, and not busy.

Trails are challenging enough to get a good workout in, but gentle enough to take small children on. There's restroom if you need it, picnic tables and shelters, and ample parking. It's not as busy as some of the other parks in the area, but it's a bit out of the way. There's a few offshoots on the loops, so be mindful of where you're at. Your cellphone will have service out there as well.

Trails are easy to moderate. Not as difficult as the east side of Great Bear, but very nice.

Loved this place growing up and still walk the trails 25 years later...

One of my favorite places to go for walks. Great for family, walking by yourself, with friends and cookout. Also in September they have Homesteader Days where all kinds of things happen.
